We aren't really summer people...heat brings out a huge groan around the house, but we do love the water in the summer. We try to go to our local swimming hole here in town that is fabulous once a week. Chris has been swimming for 3.5 years at least 4 times a week year round, mostly with my dad and can swim on his own with no problem...definitely not the prettiest swimmer, but hey, he's 4 and we think he's awesome! :)
Saturday was super-hot and we got everything done we needed to get done. Therefore, it was pool time. We go at 5 and stay till close because it saves a little $$, which is fine by me. Chris has it in his head that wherever we save money; it means we can get to Mickey's House (Disney World) faster. I don't think I'm going to correct him on that point. Sophie has been swimming a few times, but now she's ready to go pretty consistently. She LOVES it. She responds with much more enthusiasm than Chris did at this age. It makes me wonder what she will be doing when she's 4.
We had an amazing time together!! I wish I could have seen us coming because we come in with everything we could possibly need. LOL! Our favorite must have for the pool is Sophie's bumbo...works awesome and we don't have to tote her everywhere. Sophie made it about 1.5 hours before she needed dinner and a quick nap, then another hour before the water got a little cold. Chris loves the slides and racing daddy down them. There is such joy on their faces!
