Christmas in July

When I was a kid, probably 5 or 6, my Dad suprised myself and my Mom with Christmas in July. I was very young, but I definitely remember this day. I remember being absolutely amazed...and a little freaked out that Santa was watching in the summer. I remember how great a feeling this experience brought so I wanted to do it for Chris this year.

Keith and I went over what we could do and we came up with the idea of getting a pool. It's been a scorcher around here lately and we felt that this would remedy the situation. Chris being a water bug also helped make the decision relatively easy.

We tired Chris out big time the night before and got everything set up. Everything was wrapped and we brought out a mini tree we had and decorated it to the nines.

When Chris woke up the next morning he completely missed the whole set-up twice!! Lol!! Finally got him pointed in the right direction and it was funny to hear him stop for a second, and then proceed back into the room looking very confused. The first thing out of his mouth was, "Guys?? What day is today??"

He was tickled to pieces, but got very concerned with Hoho's note saying that he still needed to be good because he was keeping an eye on him. :) I totally instill fear into my kid by using Hoho, lol!

It took a week to get the pool up and running because we had to level a portion of our patio (boy, was that the worst!), but it is up!! It's a wonderful 85 degrees (Mommy wishes is was a few more), and we are in it every day. Sophie loves it too. She's our little splashing girl!!

Random Cuteness

This was Sophie's outfit a few weeks ago at church. She was my mini Minnie Mouse...absolutely the cutest kid ever!! Not that I'm biased :)!

End of Spring Softball

Keith is a pretty active guy and has been doing local county softball for 2 years now. He decided to move up from E League to D League, and has a great time. They have done pretty well this season.

Chris loves to go to Daddy's games most of the time. Occassionally since my parent's live so close we'll drop the kiddos off with them for a while and have a some what quiet evening.(As quiet as you can get at a softball game :)

Sine the weather has been so hot lately, Chris pretty much runs around "half naked" and soaking wet from being water bombed by everyone. He loves it and it keeps him cool!

Father's Day

Father's Day was an enjoyable day for all of us. My parent's came up and went to church with us, and Keith's dad came over later in the afternoon.

Keith is a very good griller and we decided that we would attempt steaks this time. A first for us, and it definitely won't be the last time...he did a fabulous job and they were amazing! There was so much food! Steaks, baked mac and cheese, corn on the cob, rolls, deviled eggs, banana cream poke cake...pure deliciousness!!

We attempted to make hand print shirts for Dad and the Grandpa's. That was a complete experience with baby girl...I swear i'm still finding random yellow pint on her, but it was a huge success!

All in all a wonderful day with ourgreat family!

Keith's 28th Birthday

Last month a busy month for us!! I'm going to attempt to knock out a few posts to get everyone up to date. Right at the beginning of June, we had Keith's 28th birthday. (This means we have been together 7.5 years...incredibly scary how time flies!!)

I got a bunch of friends to write messages on balloons and mail them back to me as a surprise for him to blow up that day. He was completely surprised, but did get a tad lightheaded from lack of oxygen. :)

Chris got to pick the "theme" for the party and went with The Avengers. We had to jerry-rig the decorations a little bit since The Avengers are apparently very popular and sold out everywhere. We were able to find a snazzy tablecloth and make due with that. We did cupcakes for dessert and they were so good! Red, white, and blue for Capt. America, red and yellow for Iron Man, red for Thor, and Purple and green for the Hulk. Tons of fun!
