Memorial Day Excitement...

...not the kind you would think. Lol! Here was the original plan for our Memorial Day Weekend. Keith had to work so we were going to get the grill started up after he got home at 6:30...we went up to the greatest grocery store ever, Sharp Shopper, and got EVERYTHING earlier in the week!!! (and it's still sitting in my fridge...boo!!)

Chris had come down with a fever Friday, but he seemed to be his perky self by Saturday. Keith gets up to head out to work at 4:30am (I have no idea how he does this...it would kill me) and I felt perfectly normal. By the time baby girl woke up at 7:30 it was going downhill extremely quickly. I don't remember ever being this sick in my entire life...I was in so much pain from my head to my toes, and I was so cold, but so hot...gahhh!! Keith gets off work at 6pm so I called him and told him it was time to go to the hospital, I couldn't do it anymore. Apparently holidays don't like me much...every time I have gone into the hospital with out having a reason aka childbirth I always end up going in on a holiday. One specific holiday, so at least they changed it up on me this time. Out of the 7 years Keith and I have been together 5 of those I have been in the hospital on New Year's Eve...hopefully we can start with some of the other holidays to mix it up a bit lol!!!

So I got picked up by the ambulance crew which is always an experience. A lot of our neighbors our with fire/rescue, therefore, when a unit is seen at one of our homes we all come running :). Keith ended up joining me later, after taking the kiddos to some of our good friend's from church. I ended up having a 103.9 fever, a virus, tacky heartrate of 150, and pharyngitis...whoohoo!! I did learn an important fact from my fabulous nurse Ray. Apparently, when someone has a fever, you don't cover them up and make them sweat...the man wouldn't even give me a blanket!! You need to "let the body breath". I guess he was right. It took about 6 hours, but I got my temp down to 99.8...much better. They were great!! They even gave me a wonderful late dinner: chicken salad sandwich, applesauce, crackers, apple juice, and hershey's vanilla ice cream cup, which tasted wonderful since it was my first meal in 20 hrs. Finally made it home to recoupe...

Yesterday was ok, but today was not so fun. Because of my high temperature I ended up getting 4 fever blisters. Man, I hate these nasty little buggers. I normally keep these under control with lysine, but I think the temperature was too much. I also am getting these weird, painful, red bumps on my hands...definitely have no clue what these are. Calling the dr tomorrow and hopefully going to get back to rights quickly.

What did we learn from this whole wonderful experience...when someone has a fever don't bundle someone up. It prolongs the process...who knew??!!

UPDATE: Went to the Dr. and I have a nasty case of hand foot and mouth virus...super gross!! Am on steroids and have to go back later this week...major boo!!
